Innisfil’s 2018 Winter & Holiday Events!
The Town of Innisfil is a community that certainly thrives despite cooler temperatures! With numerous recreational activities for residents of all ages, as well as holiday events boasting with fun for the whole family, it’s no wonder families are relocating to the new, beautiful, ideally-located homes of Innisfil’s Belle Aire Shores. Let’s take a closer look at all the fun Innisfil has to offer during winter 2018!
Winter Programs
The Town of Innisfil certainly knows who to keep its residents active during the winter. Innisfil’s community recreational centres host winter Active Programs for all ages starting from November to the end of March. Parents can sign their preschoolers up for ballet, jazz, martial arts and more! Innisfil’s facilities also offer indoor soccer and shinny hockey leagues alongside skating lessons to get the toddlers started early. Other children’s and adult programs include painting and cooking classes, as well as volleyball and tennis. There are also general interest programs including financial planning, ballroom dancing and meditation classes! Holiday Events
Light Up Night offers families the perfect way to kick off the holiday season! Families will make their way to the Christmas tree on Queen Street in Cookstown where kids will see Santa before the big parade, sing along with the carolers, and witness the Christmas tree being lit to celebrate the season. (November 24, 4 p.m., Queen Street, Cookstown.) Click here for details.
The next day families will line the streets for Innisfil’s annual Santa Claus Parade! Children will enjoy getting into holiday spirit seeing various colourful and bright floats as well as Santa himself. Kids are encouraged to bring along their letters to hand them to Santa personally. On December 1st, Nantyr Shores Secondary School will be hosting their very first Annual Holiday Market Extravaganza! This event will certainly get the whole family in the gift-giving spirit as the community comes together to support the School Council and donate toward children’s extra-curricular activities. Join the local community as the Holiday Market Extravaganza showcases local vendors and artisans offering their homemade and hand-crafted products including soaps, candles, holiday decorations, baked treats and more! There will also be a pancake breakfast, Christmas concert, and the opportunity to get photos with Santa. (December 1, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., 1146 Anna Maria Ave.) Click here for details.
Welcoming 2019
Join the Town of Innisfil as they ring in the new year with a New Year’s Eve Family Skate and fireworks! The skate will take place from 5 – 7 p.m., where families can participate in ongoing contests and door prizes while they drift around the rink. The fireworks display will take place at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the facility’s parking lot. Innisfil’s Recreational Center is hosting this free event, however any donations are humbly accepted.
