This is a brand new program designed by Enbridge that encourages builders to embrace alternative design approaches in an effort to increase energy efficiency. The goal for builders is to construct homes that are 25% better than the energy requirements of the 2012 Ontario Building Code. And for every home built using Enbridge’s Integrated Design Process (IDP), builders are rewarded with $2000 per home, up to a maximum of 50 homes. As the first builder to complete the IDP, we’re proud to receive the financial incentive and save energy. See, it really does pay to be green.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: Why is buying at Zancor different than buying from another builder?</font><br/>
A: We try to make the homebuying experience a pleasure from day one. How we go about this is by getting our homebuyers involved in the process as much as possible. As a young and growing company, we try to keep on top of what customers want and we always cover all our bases. 
</p>

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: What should customers look for in a new home?</font><br/>
A: The first thing is, of course, the area. Where do you want to live? Which location is right for you and your family? The second thing is what is important to your lifestyle, what do you absolutely need. Once you’ve answered these questions, it becomes a little bit easier to find the right home for you. </p>

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: How would you define Zancor’s relationship with its customers?</font><br/>
A: At Zancor we foster relationships with our purchasers. What gives all Zancor employees so much pride is that there is a lot of competition out there but time after time, families return to Zancor because they trust us. The bottom line is that people have faith in us and we have faith in them. Our best advertisement is word of mouth and I think that says a lot. We have a high track record of selling to families. Once one member of family purchases a Zancor home, we tend to see the rest of the family.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<h3>Part 2: Quality &#038; Craftsmanship</h3>
<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: Zancor is known for their high quality craftsmanship. How do you maintain such high standards?</font><br/>
A: I’m lucky enough to work in a controlled environment where I’m able to evaluate my staff’s workload and adjust it so they have time to do the best job possible. This is key in producing high quality work. Another factor is that all staff members, from the ground up, have a say in the company and want to build the best homes possible. 
</p>

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: What should people know about buying a home at Zancor?</font><br/>
A: One of the advantages of buying at Zancor is the day-to-day involvement of the President, Fabrizio Cortellucci. Fab believes in fine craftsmanship and using the finest materials, and you can see this top down belief system throughout the company. He’s also one of the few owners that are engaged at all levels – he is a president that exists. Fab is hands on at all levels, from the construction site to the sales office, he wants homebuyers to be satisfied with the Zancor experience. </p>

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: How would you describe the staff at Zancor?</font><br/>
A: There’s a lot of passion in this company. I think what drives Zancor staff into doing the best job possible is that we can imagine the families that will one day come home from work and spend time in these Zancor built homes. It gives us tremendous pride in everything we do. All of these factors are at play in creating the best houses possible.  </p>

We recently got a chance to ask him a few questions about what makes buying a home at Zancor different than the competition. This is the first blog in a series of three that focus on the advantages of buying a home at Zancor.</p>

<h3>Part 1: An Introduction</h3>
<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: Hi Domenic, what is your role at Zancor Homes?</font><br/>
A: I’m the Manager of Construction and Site Operations. Essentially, I’m responsible for running the day-to-day operations at the construction end of the business.

<p><font style="font-family:AvenirLTStd55RomanBold">Q: How do you keep Zancor customers happy?</font><br/>
A:The most exciting part of the homebuying process is, understandably, at the time of purchase. This presents a challenge for us to keep the excitement going until the new home is move-in ready. How we do this is, we turn other parts of the building process into important milestones. For instance, every homebuyer has a décor appointment, a structural appointment and a frame walk. All of these stages allow the homebuyer to get to know the Zancor employees better and be part of the homebuilding process. </p>
