Autumn Activities For The Whole Family

October 23, 2017

Who doesn’t love fall! Aside from the stunning leaves changing colour along the multitude of scenic trails, Innisfil and its surrounds host numerous autumn activities to celebrate the beautiful season, and all within a short drive from the charming Belle Aire Shores community! We’ve complied a short list of various family-friendly activities within close distance to get everyone outside enjoying the brisk weather while exploring everything the neighbourhood has to offer. For those unable to make it to any of the farms listed below, be sure to attend Innisfil’s weekly Farmer’s Market every Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Innisfil Recreational Complex for fresh, locally grown produce.

Apple Picking

A short drive away in the nearby town of Springwater is Barrie Hill Farms. This 40-acre farm is brimming with fresh produce and fruits to be picked all year long! Take advantage of this time of year’s short apple picking season with numerous varieties including honeycrisps and more. The farm’s market store also produces local apple cider and fresh baked homemade pumpkin pies!

Drysdale’s Pumpkin Patch

Take your family to Drysdale’s! Here you’ll find autumn and Halloween-themed activities for kids including haunted wagon rides through the forest, zip lining and much more. Graze through the patch and pick your very own pumpkin while the kids enjoy the Hay Play Place and get their faces painted! There’s plenty of family-filled fun here for the kids and their parents.

Other nearby Pumpkin Patches include Chappell Farms and Barrie Hill Farms.

Corn Maze

Head over to Cooper’s CSA Farm Maze. This 10-acre corn maze is a fun challenge for all generations! The farm also has a farm kitchen to keep the family energized, along with wagon rides, a hay climb, scavenger hunts and a pumpkin patch.

The Changing Colours in Your Backyard

With a landscape like Innisfil’s, it’s hard not to find the breathtaking views of the leaves changing colour. Take a short drive for a view of the distant small hills of farmland and various scattered clusters of trees and their beautiful colours. You can also take the family on a walk along the trails and water to enjoy the incredible views before winter takes hold. Be sure to check out the trails leading to Big Bay Point, as well as along Killarney Beach Park and Innisfil Beach Park. If the weather cooperates you’ll not only be able to get a beautiful view of the leaves, but also their radiant reflections across the water.

Wishing you and your families a fabulous autumn from all of us here at Belle Aire Shores!
